Hello, my name is Jermayne Harris. I am the proud Owner and Executive Chef of Mayne Course. My love affair with food started at an early age, as I often ate delicious dishes that my mom and grandmother made. As I got older, my passion for eating food evolved into a passion for cooking it.
Throughout high school and college, I had a plethora of restaurant experiences that allowed me to learn and develop my customer experience and leadership skills. Additionally, the majority of my technical skills were learned while attending the Columbus Downtown High School for Culinary Arts.
In 2016, Mayne Course was established and during that time, our services were limited to only catering events. Business was going great. However, only a few months after getting started, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure which required me to make some serious lifestyle changes.
During my road to recovery, I self-reflected on my “why” which reenergized my passion and Inspired me to continue moving forward with my dream. In 2020, despite lingering health challenges, I partnered with my father and we expanded the business to include a food truck we also revamped the menu to include healthy meal prep options. Once again, business is thriving!
Running a business is demanding and it requires resilience and patience. I continue to learn and balance both as a business owner and in my personal life. Being on the National Heart Transplant List has a accelerated my learning in both.
I am incredibly blessed to still be able to live out my dream of being a business owner. Through the good and the bad, all of my experiences have led me here. Mayne Course is committed to growth and we are excited to serve our community through our great food and remarkable experiences.
